More “Dancing with the Stars”? Yes, please!

E! News reported that the long-running ABC series would be returning to its roots in the second half of Season 20 by airing two shows a week instead of one -- and we couldn’t be happier. (More Val Chmerkovskiy, the merrier we say!)

It was during Season 17 of the hit competition that ABC attempted to concentrate the series by limiting “DWTS” to one episode a week. This was in an effort to “focus” and “build a sense of occasion,” ABC executive Paul Lee explained to reporters.

But luckily for fans, ABC execs changed their mind (huzzah!) and now “DWTS” will return to its original format of two shows a week (performances on Monday and eliminations on Tuesday). The new format will kick off during Week 8 starting with Tuesday night’s double elimination on May 5. (That’s right, two couples will be sent home in the upcoming installment, thinning the competition down to the final four.)

Monday night will celebrate the theme “America’s Choice Night,” which means the remaining six couples will have to perform routines to the tunes and styles chosen by the fans. And that’s not all! Audiences will also get a say in what the celebrities and their professional partners will get to wear during the performances, in addition to set designs and visual effects, ABC revealed. All viewers have to do to be heard that they want Val sporting a shirtless look (just a suggestion) is to sound off on Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram.

And because this is the 10-year anniversary season, fans should anticipated “DWTS” to go all out for Week 8. After “America’s Choice,” each couple will have to entertain the judges and the crowd once again with a second dance -- accompanied with an eliminated pro or member of the troupe. The trio styles will include the Jive, Samba, Salsa and our personal favorite, the Paso Doble.

Tuesday’s double elimination may be taxing on fans, which is why ABC decided to lighten to mood by booking two singing sensations, E! News revealed. Both Josh Groban and Carly Rae Jepsen will belt out a tune during the nail-bitter of an episode. Groban will sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” while the “Call Me Maybe” songstress will perform her new hit single “I Really Like You.” Oh, and did we mention “Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler will rock the ballroom floor on Tuesday night, too?
