Bindi Irwin may be absent from the ballroom, but the contagious spirit of the Season 21 “Dancing With the Stars” winner can still be felt lingering on the dance floor … and through other contestants.

During the Season 22 premiere of the hit ABC competition, the judges agreed that “Good Morning America” meteorologist Ginger Zee embodied the Mirror Ball champ’s uplifting and positive attitude on the dance floor.

“Are you familiar with a woman named Bindi Iriwn?” judge Carrie Anna Inaba asked Ginger. “Watching you dance brought me right back to Bindi Iriwn’s Week 1. You have something phenomenal — you are infectious. You lit up the joint. There’s something about your attack and commitment to every move that’s just pure joy.”

Like Bindi, Ginger also performed a jive routine for her Week 1 performance. (The two even sported similar, glittery outfits!) Bruno Tonioli noted that the quick-paced dance was a bold choice for a premiere routine, but told the “GMA” host that she pulled it off with finesse and precision.

"The weather forecast is looking pretty good!" Bruno said to Val Chmkervovskiy's partner. "You do very well under high pressure. [Val] was pushing you so hard with this jive. It’s so difficult to do this dance.”

But Ginger came out on top, tying for highest score of the night just like Bindi did during Week 1 of the Season 21 dance competition.

So, what did Bindi have to say about being compared to the sweetheart of Season 22? Well, the Aussie native took to Twitter to reveal that she also felt a connection to Ginger.
