Yet another Season 23 “Dancing With the Stars” pair was sent packing on Monday after facing off in Week 8.

Each of the remaining six teams was asked to prepare a Halloween-themed routine, as well as three additional dances to perform in a head-to-head competition after their solos on the ABC series. Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber kicked off the night with a cha cha routine to Harry Belafonte’s “Day-O” during which they recreated the iconic dinner party scene from “Beetlejuice.” They “set the tone for the night,” as the judges repeatedly reminded them, but did not score enough to be awarded immunity.

Perfect scores were awarded to Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy; Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold and James Hinchcliffe, who performed with Jenna Johnson due to an injury partner Sharna Burgess suffered in Week 7. In the end, James and Jenna’s “Suicide Squad” themed dance secured their spot on the show, saving them from elimination and earning them extra points.

While James, Jenna and Sharna basked in their big win, the rest of the Season 23 “DWTS” contestants braced for the worst. Laurie and Val got first pick, opting to do a jive routine against Calvin and Lindsay. They emerge victorious in both viewer votes and with the judges. Terra and Sasha faced off against Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko, losing two to one with the judges, while Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke beat Marilu Henner and Derek Hough.

After the showdown host Tom Bergeron announced the moment viewers had been waiting all night for — eliminations. Despite losing in the face-off, Marilu and Derek were the first couple to be announced safe. In the final moments of the show it was revealed that either Terra and Sasha or Ryan and Cheryl had danced their last dance. Ultimately, the Olympic gold medalist and his partner were sent back home after eight long weeks of improvement and competition.

In his final interview, Ryan thanked viewers for tuning in and voting for he and Cheryl week after week. While he was disappointed to be leaving Season 23 of “DWTS,” he told the show’s hosts he was grateful for the experience. Additionally, Ryan claimed he could not have imagined that he would make it this far.

Who will be the next couple eliminated on “DWTS?” Tune in Monday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
