The remaining four “Dancing With the Stars” pairs are one week away from the Season 24 semifinals, and the pressure of competing is starting to get to some of the competing duos.

Team Golden Giggles (Sasha Farber and Simone Biles) consistently gives their all on the dancefloor, but it’s emotion the judges of the ABC competition want from them. Carrie Ann Inaba repeatedly told Simone she was craving something more than her signature smile. The critiques are taking a toll on the Olympian, who’s giving her all week after week.

“I feel like everyone has their own opinion, clearly, and I feel it’s just how you take it,” she told ET Online. “I feel like I am trying, I am being honest, but if they don’t see that, I don’t know what more I can do.”

Despite their frustration, Sasha’s more determined than ever to return to the “DWTS” ballroom with something that’ll wow the judges in Week 9. He assured ET that Simone’s working “hard” and learning new things every week. Sasha’s promised to spend the week cooking up something spectacular for the semifinals.

“I just know how hard this girl works,” he said. “Each week she comes in and she delivers something different. There’s a lot of expectation on her shoulders, and we’re just gonna go back into the studio and keep digging.”

Simone and Sasha set the bar high for themselves on Monday. The pair were tasked with doing two performances — one with each other and another with “DWTS” troupe member Brittany Cherry. They delivered high scoring performances, but it was clear that the critiques about Simone being robotic and lacking emotion were hard for her to stomach.

Team Golden Giggles has dedicated themselves to knocking Team Valmani (Val Chmerkovskiy and Normani Kordei) out of the top spot. The duo has been seated comfortably there since early in the competition. They scored a perfect 40 out of 40 in Week 6 as well as one in Week 7, so it’s going to be no easy feat to take them down.

While they’re having a hard time beating Val and Normani, they’ve had no trouble at all knocking other people out of the competition. Team Denim N Diamonds (Sharna Burgess and Bonner Bolton) were sent packing in Week 8 after Team Blades of Glory (Artem Chigvintsev and Nancy Kerrigan) and Team Baby Got Bach (Peta Murgatroyd and Nick Viall) in Week 7. Team Golden Giggles and Team Blades of Glory faced off ahead of their elimination in a Cha Cha showdown, which Simone and Sasha won.

The pair were among the favorites to win the Season 24 mirrorball on “DWTS.” With Team Valmani and Team Shad Squad (Emma Slater and Rashad Jennings), it’s anyone’s guess who will emerge victorious. Team Lady and the Gramp (Lindsay Arnold and David Ross) are not to be counted out though — they’ve made monumental strides in the “DWTS” competition and are beloved by fans.

Simone’s got a secret weapon in her arsenal through this season though. Olympic teammate Laurie Hernandez competed on “DWTS” and won in Season 23. She’s doled out some advice to Simone and has been there to support her and Sasha since day one.

“I told her to wear socks with her heels, so that way she doesn’t get blisters on her feet,” Laurie told ET. “My partner [Val] showed me that one.”

We’ll just have to wait until Week 9 of “DWTS” to see how Laurie’s advice and Sasha’s coaching fares for Simone. Tune in to the ABC show Monday at 8 p.m. EDT.
