Elektra (Elodie Yung) was one the highlights of “Daredevil” Season 2 after she returned to Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) life to cause a little bit of chaos. However, when Season 2 of the Netflix drama came to an end, the future of Elektra was unclear. It appears only Marvel knows for sure, as not even Yung has been clued in about what’s next for the heroine.

While Daredevil and Elektra spent most of Season 2 fighting side-by-side against The Hand, fans were shocked to see Elektra killed in the finale. In the final moments of episode 13, Elektra was dug up by The Hand and it looked like they were getting ready to resurrect her as their Black Sky. It’s unknown if she will come back as a villain in another season of Daredevil or in the upcoming “The Defenders” miniseries. There’s also the possibility the character won't come back.

Yung told Entertainment Weekly that she’s not sure what’s next for her character. She said she never gets answers when she asks “Daredevil” producers and Marvel execs and has “given up” on trying to find out.

“No, I can’t really say anything. I auditioned not knowing it was Elektra. Marvel’s very secretive, and I’m not hiding anything, I’m not lying, it’s just the way they are. I can’t tell you anything because I don’t know anything,” Yung dished.

Netflix and Marvel have yet to announce if there will be a “Daredevil” Season 3. In November, Netflix released “Jessica Jones” Season 1 and revealed in January that there would be a Season 2 of the show. It’s possible news about the future of “Daredevil” might not come for another month or two. There has also been no release date or plot revelations for “The Defenders,” which will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Cox told CinemaBlend if “Daredevil” does continue into further installments he’d like to see the show introduce Daredevils archrival Bullseye. If the show does continue and Bullseye debuts, Daredevil will have his hands full like never before. Especially with the chance that Elektra will be brought back by The Hand.
