The double wedding was underway and things appeared to be going well for both Chad and Abigail and Sonny and Paul. However, now that Ben has managed to show up and crash the happy event, things will change drastically with an unexpected revelation that he makes as he enters the church on the Monday, Oct. 2 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

As Abigail (Marci Miller) prepared to say her vows to Chad (Billy Flynn) on the NBC soap, the doors of the church opened and a mystery man dressed in black was shown entering the space and stunning all four people at the altar, as well as several witnesses. The man crashing the ceremony was none other than Abigail’s former fiancé, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), who had killed Sonny’s (Freddie Smith) former husband, Will (Chandler Massey), as well as other Salem residents, before attempting to kill both Chad and Abigail in a fire and kidnapping their son, Thomas. He was later locked away in a sanitarium, but has since escaped to now attend the wedding.

Abigail, who was previously haunted by Ben, which caused her to fake her own death shortly after she married Chad the first time, won’t hesitate to try and go after him when she realizes he’s at the wedding. However, after, she will learn that shockingly, Ben isn’t there for her and Chad, and isn’t out to terrorize them. In fact, he crashed the event to drop an unexpected bombshell on the other couple seeking to wed—Sonny and Paul (Christopher Sean).

Ben will reveal that he now believes Will is alive, and he never killed him, saying the murder was a cover up. Because he is seen as being crazy, his claims could immediately be dismissed, though they will likely halt everything, because Sonny won’t be able to ignore the fact that his former husband, the man he loved deeply, could be alive.

With the claim halting everything, there will quickly be an investigation into whether Ben’s claims are true, because if so, then Sonny not only couldn’t legally marry Paul, but may no longer want to either, since he would likely want to be reunited with Will.

However, following the first bombshell, Ben won’t have any other answers, and likely won’t be able to tell Sonny where he thinks Will is. He will still maintain however that he didn’t murder the other man, and the death was all a cover up. When Sonny continues to insist that he knows Will is dead because he saw his husband’s body, Ben will continue to say his claim is correct, but without any other information, it will make the situation increasingly more confusing.

Though it would seem highly unlikely that Will is alive, it could still be enough for Sonny to decide that he genuinely cannot go through with the wedding, because he needs to learn the truth. It will be a devastating blow to his romance with Paul, but until he can get the answers he needs, he likely won’t be able to truly commit to his plans to marry another man.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
