The bodies are piling up on “Days of Our Lives.” The NBC soap opera killed off yet another big character on Friday, while also introducing a new twist in an old murder case.

Last week’s installment of “Days of Our Lives” ended with an emotionally distraught Joey (James Lastovic) suffocating Ava (Tamara Braun) in her hospital bed. Steve (Stephen Nichols) found his son right after the incident took place and decided to take the blame for the crime. He told the police that he smothered Ava to death because she was trying to ruin Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) life. But what Steve didn’t realize is that Joey had accidentally left a bloody Band-Aid behind in the room.

Steve was arrested for Ava’s murder, but that wasn’t the only shocker. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) finally came clean to Roman (Josh Taylor) about her involvement in Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) death. She told her brother-in-law that she killed Stefano as an act of revenge for Bo (Peter Reckell). Roman promised to protect Hope and her family, but a mysterious phone call later revealed that Hope may have shot Stefano for no reason. The unknown caller told Hope she killed the “wrong man.” It was allegedly Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) who killed Bo.

What will happen this week on “Days of Our Lives”? Monday’s episode on Feb. 29 will find Hope worrying about killing Stefano “for a crime he did not commit.” Elsewhere, Theresa (Jen Lilley) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) will be stressing about Summer (Marie Wilson). While Theresa is not happy about what Summer means for her relationship with Brady (Eric Martsolf), Nicole will be focusing on getting more information on the mystery woman from Dario (Jordi Vilasuso).

Things will remain complicated on Tuesday’s episode when Joey “makes a stunning confession” to Kayla. Will he tell his mom that he was the one responsible for killing Ava? Roman might already be onto Joey. The episode description for March 1 adds that Steve must lie to the chief of police.

Wednesday’s installment will deliver a blast from the past when some of Salem’s finest gather to “celebrate the death of Stefano.” The town villain managed to torture almost everyone over the years, and they’ll unite to remember how they managed to overcome his evil plans. But it’s back to the current drama in Thursday’s episode. Steve will be doing his best to find a way to avoid doing time for Ava’s murder. Elsewhere, Brady will have Summer’s DNA checked as the mystery woman has a run-in with Maggie (Suzanne Rogers).

Finally, Friday’s episode on March 4 will find Hope rejoining the police force. Victor (John Aniston) will also tell Caroline (Peggy McCay) about Deimos – but will it shed any light on Deimos’ potential involvement in Bo’s death?

“Days of Our Lives” airs on NBC Mondays through Fridays at 1 p.m. EST.
