With mobile devices like “Injustice: Gods Among Us” and “Batman: Arkham Origins” proving popular, it was only a matter of time before a new DC mobile game would be released, especially one that features the entire DC roster. “DC Comics Legends” is a free-to-play mobile role-playing game (RPG) that features an old-school turn-based attack system and myriad DC superheroes.

According to App Advice, players will be required to make their own super team to battle the Manhunters, who are seemingly set to invade Earth. To do this, heroes and villains must put their differences aside and team up, so if fans want Cyborg to be on the same team with Sinestro, it’s now possible.

Kotaku tested the game and discussed the first few minutes of “DC Comics Legends.” The game starts the player out with an incredibly powerful team consisting of Superman, Zatanna and Lex Luthor. Soon, the team saves and recruits Green Lantern, who was seemingly possessed by something, though Lex and Superman are taken out of the equation and are seemingly killed by one of the Manhunters.

Players will then keep Green Lantern and Zatanna while attempting to rescue and recruit other heroes to their cause and save the world from the Manhunters. Fans can expect a colorful cast of fan-favorite characters like Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman and more. As is usually the case with free-to-play titles, players can either grind to earn the best characters or get them through in-app purchases (IAPs).

The name “DC Comics Legends” is an interesting choice, as the CW Network plans on releasing a “Legends of Tomorrow” show later this year, starring a number of characters from DC Comics -- like Atom, Captain Cold, Hawkgirl and more. The show is a spinoff series from “Arrow” and “The Flash,” who will both make cameo appearances on the new show.

“DC Comics Legends” should be available now in the iTunes App Store as a free download, though it may just be a soft-launch title for now. No Google Android version has been announced yet.
