During the “Dead or Alive” festival in Japan, publisher Koei Tecmo announced a number of new updates that would be coming to “Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.” New downloadable costume packs will be coming from August to November. A major “Dead or Alive 5” update is also set for release in 2016, which supposedly will add a new character and a new stage.
The first “Dead or Alive 5” costume update will be coming to consoles Aug. 11, according to a report translated by Gematsu. This update will give users a new stage in the game called Fireworks, along with the ”Lovely Summer Costume 2015” pack. Fans can also expect some minor gameplay balancing, which will address fan complaints about characters like Hayate or Kasumi being too powerful.
Downloadable content (DLC) for September includes costumes that pay tribute to games that came out for the Falcom console, like “Legend of Heroes” and “Trails in the Sky.” This costume pack is part of a partnership between developers Koei Tecmo and Nihom Falcom.
Koei Tecmo also teamed up with Square Enix for a special DLC costume pack that puts some of the game’s female fighters in costumes from “Schoolgirl Strikers.” For those unaware, “Schoolgirl Strikers” is a mobile game from Square Enix that mixes the drama of a visual novel game with the experience building from a Japanese role-playing game.
In October, a DLC costume pack simply titled “Everyone’s Halloween Costume” will be available for download. The title of the pack assumes that every character will be getting a costume.
Aside from the new character and stage, 2016 will also see the release of the “Dead or Alive 5” costume DLC based on characters from Tatsunoko Productions, VG24/7 confirmed. The release date for this piece of DLC is unknown though it might come after the new character and stage hit.
So far, it hasn’t confirmed if any of the new DLC will be part of the second “Dead or Alive 5: Last Round” season pass that was announced recently.
