Dead Rising 4 will eventually come to PS4

Dead Rising 4 was originally set to release exclusively on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in December, but Microsoft recently told GameSpot that the upcoming game will eventually makes its way to PS4 and Steam.

"Dead Rising 4 on Xbox One is developed by Capcom and will be published in partnership with Microsoft. Fans will be able to play ' Dead Rising 4 ' first on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC this December. It will remain a Windows 10 exclusive for the first 90 days and console exclusive on Xbox One for one year,” Microsoft said in a statement “We’ve had a close and longstanding relationship with Capcom including the launch of Dead Rising as an Xbox 360 exclusive and Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive. We’re thrilled to partner with Capcom once again to help bring their ambitious vision for Dead Rising 4 to life."

Dead Rising 4: Why Capcom went with a different actor for Frank West

In a fan Q&A from September, Dead Rising 4 sees the franchise returning to its roots, as the game brings main character Frank West and the Willamette setting. However, Frank West voice actor TJ Rotolo was not brought back for Dead Rising 4.

“Dead Rising 4 takes place sixteen years after the events from the first game,” Capcom said in a statement. Capcom went with a new actor for the role so that he “reflected his age while still retaining the charm and humor that made him such a hit with fans.”

Dead Rising 4’s campaign won’t feature multiplayer

Dead Rising 4 is already getting rid of the series’ trademark campaign time limit, and now it's confirmed to ditch another feature Dead Rising 4 fans are going to miss. In a Twitch stream, gameplay producer David McAnerin said they decided to go with a different co-op mode. "We want to make sure we really focus on telling Frank's story," McAnerin said. "We think he's a really interesting character. It's really exciting to bring him back.”

Though the campaign won’t feature multiplayer, McAnerin detailed a separate four-player co-op mode. McAnerin said it’s inspired by the game’s original Infinity mode, which gets players to see how long they can survive for. The game’s new co-op mode lets players learn the backstories of the four characters, who star in the mode.

If you pre-order the Dead Rising 4 Standard Edition from the Microsoft Store you will receive the exclusive X-Fists DLC, which allows you to smash and bash your way through the zombie mayhem while equipped in an EXO Suit.

Frank West rips apart zombies in a mech suit in Dead Rising 4 trailer

Back in September, Microsoft released a new trailer for zombie game Dead Rising 4. The gameplay video is called “Return to the Mall,” which goes back to the first game where Frank West was stuck in a mall fighting zombies. It’s the same thing in Dead Rising 4, but West has a mech suit and even more incredible weapons. As you’ll see in the trailer, the mech suit makes West look powerful, as he can rip zombies in half and push over cars.
