Dean Ambrose And Renee Young Are Married, Joining List Of WWE Couples

John Cena and Nikki Bella made headlines at WrestleMania 33 when they got engaged during the pay-per-view, but another WWE couple just went a step further and officially tied the knot. WWE personality Renee Young has confirmed that she is now married to Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose.

Speculation that the couple got hitched began Monday night when fans noticed Ambrose wearing a wedding ring on “Monday Night Raw.” Young’s ring was spotted when she hosted “Talking Smack” Tuesday night following “SmackDown Live.” WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler even made a comment about Young’s ring, and she addressed the matter on Twitter early Wednesday morning.

The relationship between Ambrose and Young had been public knowledge for a few years, but the couple never addressed it on WWE TV until the most recent season of “Total Divas” became set to air late last year. Both Young and Ambrose are featured on the reality-TV show.

It’s quite common for WWE superstars to get married, and their relationships often become part of TV storylines. That’s been the case for just about every married couple that’s currently in WWE, of which there are a few.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

They are WWE’s power couple and have been for nearly two decades. It began when Triple H and Stephanie got married as part of an Attitude Era storyline, but their on-screen relationship quickly became a real thing. Their actual marriage happened in 2003, and Triple H has seemingly become the heir apparent to eventually take over the family business from Vince McMahon. Forming The Authority, Triple H and Stephanie have used their position to become WWE’s biggest heels over the last four years.

The Miz and Maryse

The couple met more than a decade ago when The Miz hosted WWE’s “Diva Search.” Their relationship was kept off TV, that is until Maryse returned to the company on the day after WrestleMania 32. Maryse’s interference in The Miz’s match with Zack Ryder allowed him to win the Intercontinental Championship, and she’s been in her husband’s corner ever since. The partnership has made them two of WWE’s biggest heels, and they teamed up to take on John Cena and Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33.

Rusev and Lana

Unlike the other WWE superstars that are currently married, Rusev and Lana have only been known to WWE fans as a couple. Lana joined WWE’s main roster with Rusev as his valet, and the two have been involved together in storylines ever since. WWE decided to separate the couple in 2015, but the company changed course when TMZ reported that Rusev and Lana were engaged shortly after their on-screen breakup. The couple got married last summer.

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella

Neither Bryan nor Brie currently wrestles for WWE anymore, but it’s hard to keep them off the list considering the roles they still play in the company. Brie has continued to appear on “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas” since her retirement match at WrestleMania 32, and Bryan appears on WWE TV each week as the general manager of “SmackDown Live.” They got married shortly after Bryan became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, and Brie was featured prominently in Bryan’s first title defense following his big win.

Jimmy Uso and Naomi

WWE has acknowledged the couple’s relationship on TV, but they’ve largely been kept separate in terms of storylines. Their 2014 marriage was featured on an episode of “Total Divas,” and both superstars are currently having success in WWE. Naomi won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 33, and The Usos are the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
