Demi Lovato just shared a close-up shot of her face on social media, claiming she does not have makeup in the photo. However, many of her fans are skeptical about her claim. Some even called her out for allegedly lying.

On Saturday, Lovato took to Instagram to share a selfie that appears to have been taken from her bedroom. In the picture, the “Stone Cold” hitmaker can be seen resting her head on a pillow as she looks to the camera. In the caption, she stated that she doesn’t have makeup on. As proof, she pointed out that her freckles are visible in the photo.

While many of her fans believed her when she said she’s barefaced in the pic, some doubted the validity of her statement. One wrote: “I guess she doesn’t consider mascara to be makeup. Or are they fake lashes?” Another chimed in: “Just so you guys don’t feel bad about not being born to look like this, she definitely wasn’t born with those lashes.”

It seems Lovato was aware of the commotion her barefaced selfie stirred among her fans, so she posted another picture that clearly shows her face with full makeup. Instead of explaining anything in the caption, however, she simply used the smiling face with horns emoji to express her side.

The second photo may have been taken just hours before the Grammy-nominated songstress headed to the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards at The Forum in Inglewood, California. She appears to be wearing the same silver top in the photo as she did when she arrived at the event. The 24-year-old singer-actress reportedly attended the awards show on Sunday because she was part of the lineup of presenters for the event, as first reported by Just Jared.

Meanwhile, it was already announced that Lovato will be receiving the Artistic Award of Courage at the Open Minds Gala in Beverly Hills later this month. The “Skyscraper” hitmaker is getting the recognition due to her efforts in spreading awareness for mental health issues following her struggle with bipolar disorder, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
