Singer Demi Lovato finds it “weird” that her current boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is friends with her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas. In her recent interview with a fashion magazine, Lovato opens up about her relation with Valderrama and how he never left her side when she was going through rough times.

Lovato and Valderrama have been in a relationship over the last five years. Lovato, 22, started dating Valderrama, 35, when she was 18 years old. It was during this time that she also entered rehab for emotional and physical issues. The couple was in an on-and-off relationship, but Lovato is happy that Valderrama has always supported her times in rehab.

Valderrama is not a jealous boyfriend, Lovato revealed to Cosmopolitan magazine. She said her ex-boyfriend, singer Nick Jonas and Wilmer "get along great -- Joe [Jonas] and Wilmer, too,” Lovato told Cosmopolitan. “It's weird. In the beginning, I was like, 'Why the ... are you friends with Joe?' He was like, 'He's a cool guy.' Yeah, I know. I dated him," she added.

Lovato also opened up about the time when she was relapsing and broke up with her boyfriend. "The times we'd broken up, I had already gone to that place of, 'Yeah, this is what's happening.' I didn't realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself,” she told the magazine.

The relapse time was hard on both Lovato and Valderrama. His friends told the “That '70s Show” actor to leave the singer, but he stayedd by her side during the tough times. Lovato acknowledges this gesture from Valderrama in the magazine interview. “People told him, 'You should probably leave. She's on a spiral, and you're going to be sucked down with it.' But he was like,'I'm not leaving. This is somebody I really care about,' ” the “Here We Go Again” singer said.

Lovato's interview is in the September 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan, which hits newsstands on Aug. 11.
