The New York Yankees' batter, Derek Jeter, who hit his 3000th on Saturday playing at Yankee Stadium against Tampa Bay Rays, became 28th to collect 3,000 hits in Major League Baseball (MLB).

Jeter started the game with 2,998 hits and reached the milestone after sending a 3-2 pitch into the left-field seats.

The New York Yankees captain joins Wade Boggs as the only players to hit a home run for their 3,000th hit.
