This is news you definitely shouldn't sweep under the rug! According to reports, “Devious Maids” will be returning to the screen this summer when Season 3 of Lifetime's hit soap opera premieres on Monday, June 1. But it looks like the ladies of Marc Cherry’s satire will be doing anything but cleaning as they find themselves in a whole new mess of drama.

“Devious Maids” was renewed for a third season in September 2014, just two months after the sophomore installment concluded. A+E Networks revealed the good news, adding that the primetime soap, produced by Ric Swartzlander and Brian Tanen, would run for 13 episodes.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing ‘Devious Maids’ back for another season,” Rob Sharenow, executive VP and general manager of Lifetime, said in a statement. “Marc Cherry had created a uniquely twisted world that blends his comic wit with devilishly ingenious characters and plots twists.”

One of those plot twists Sharenow referred to was the Season 2 finale cliffhanger. In episode 13, “Look Back in Anger,” Rosie (Dania Ramirez) and Spencer (Grant Show) finally decided to marry, but their joyous day was quickly darkened after multiple shots were fired into the crowd of celebrating guests. The installment ended with Rosie dropping her blood-covered bouquet, leaving fans to theorize about who fell victim to Ty’s (Gideon Glick) murderous spree.

So who bit the bullet? While that remains a mystery, we do know that Season 3 of “Devious Maids” will be introducing some new and exciting characters. Deadline reported that “Glee” star Naya Rivera would portray Blanca, a new maid, in the third installment. It was reported that initially Blanca thought she landed a gig with a “picture-perfect” Beverly Hills family, but soon enough she’ll discover a “terrible secret” about her employers -- one that could “change her life forever.”
