Airbnb's new logo. Airbnb

When Airbnb revealed its new logo on Wednesday, all anyone could talk about was how the emblem looked like a woman’s sex organ. But after the initial shock began to wear off, a different question emerged: Did Airbnb steal its vagina-like logo from another company?

Airbnb describes itself as “a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world -- online or from a mobile phone.”

And as it turns out, its new logo actually looks a lot like the logo used by Automation Anywhere, a San Jose, Calif.-based software company, Gawker wrote. The news site didn’t say Airbnb’s “stole” its new logo from the software company, but it did note that they look very similar.

Here are the few differences: The Automation Anywhere symbol is orange/yellow and a little more svelte, while Airbnb’s is more plump and pink (perhaps accentuating the “down there” comparisons even more). Automation Anywhere’s name appears to the right of its logo and Airbnb’s name is on the bottom of its emblem.

So why Airbnb go with such a shape? "It's a symbol anyone can create, whether drawn on a mirror or etched in the sand," Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said, according to Fast Company. Chesky said the company was inspired by iconic symbols like the Olympic rings and even Batman, but didn’t mention Automation Anywhere.

According to Fast Company, Airbnb’s new "Bélo" symbol looks like a paperclip stretched into the shape of an A-shaped birdhouse. Fast Company might be the alone in having that assessment considering Twitter users couldn’t stop talking about how the logo looked like the body part that ladies are supposed to cover at the beach.
