Popular social media site Instagram crashed for about an hour on Monday, causing photos to take extremely long to upload and refresh. Users complained and many suspected Justin Bieber was to blame.

Why? The young Canadian pop star posted a photo of ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, 21, to his nearly 15 million followers. The photo sparked rumors that the two were dating once again. Gomez, who was at the Vanity Fair’s Oscar party, wore a floor length gown, and Bieber captured the photo, “Most elegant princess in the world.” Over 870,000 people liked the picture.

While Bieber, 20, is suspected to have been the reason Instagram crashed, a spokesperson told TechCrunch in a statement, "As much as we hope for a blissful reunion between two of America's sweethearts, we have no reason to believe that Justin Bieber's recent Instagram post caused the site to slow down this morning. However, a small number of people were affected and we apologize for the inconvenience."

The two were last seen together at the start of the New Year, after breaking up in January 2013, allegedly because Bieber cheated on the “Spring Breakers” star. But since then, he has been seen with a bevy of beauties. Just last month, Jordan Ozuna, a Hooters waitress in Las Vegas, posted a photo on Instagram from inside a mansion, and TMZ reports it is the spaceship mansion Bieber is currently renting in Atlanta.

He got close to Ozuna last June, following his split with Gomez. The two made headlines after being spotted together at a skydiving center in Las Vegas. E! News reported at the time that "in the waiting room area [at the center], she was sitting on his lap and they were kissing.

At the end of January, Bieber was getting close to model Chantel Jeffries. She was with him when he got arrested in Miami for drag racing and driving under the influence. Jeffries previously dated Philadelphia Eagles player DeSean Jackson and Justin Combs, P. Diddy’s son. They later spent a few days together in Panama.
