With “Disney Infinity 3.0” getting released at the end of August, publisher Disney Interactive will let fans vote for the next “Disney Infinity” character to get a figurine and be playable in the game. While Disney Interactive stated that making the character and gathering the votes would take a while, the fact that the company is letting fans vote for the next character shows that it has really planned ahead with the title.

Fans can go to the official Disney Blog right now and vote for their favorite character to appear in the game. The selection of characters is an interesting mix of those who have appeared in the Disney movies and others who have appeared on shows for the Disney Channel in recent years or back in the 1990s in the Disney Afternoon.

Choices include Dory from “Finding Nemo,” Beast from “Beauty and the Beast,” Mabel from “Gravity Falls,” Baloo from the “Jungle Book,” the Mad Hatter from “Alice in Wonderland” by Tim Burton and Darkwing Duck from the “Darkwing Duck” animated series, among others. The selection has a lot of variety and should please Disney fans old and new.

There are multiple ways to vote for a character in “Disney Infinity 3.0.” There’s the standard poll vote on the Disney Blog and then there’s using social media to one’s advantage. According to Polygon, fans can vote via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #OurDisneyInfinity as a way of showcasing one’s vote.

It will be interesting to see how many characters get voted in, since the blog gave myriad choices. Most of these characters also come with their own story missions, so it could be nostalgic for those who want to see Darkwing Duck back in action or explore Gravity Falls as Mabel.

“Disney Infinity 3.0” will be available on August 30 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. More story packs and figurines are expected to hit stores this holiday season.
