The parent company of Dr Pepper is suing its oldest bottler, which is located in Dublin, Texas, and brands its drinks as Dublin Dr Pepper.

The bottler is famous making the drink with the original Dr Pepper formula using imperial pure cane sugar, as opposed to beet sugar or high-fructose corn syrup.

The Dr Pepper Snapple Group has two complaints and allegations; it wants the Dublin bottler to stop selling outside of its agreed-upon six-county territory and stop using the label "Dublin Dr Pepper."

Legal arguments aside, Dublin Dr Pepper enjoys a loyal following and has gained support in its battle.

Dublin Dr Pepper counts Texas Gov. Rick Perry as a fan, and its drinks are regularly delivered and served in the governor's mansion, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The "I Support Dublin Dr. Pepper" Facebook page, set up to support it in this legal battle, has more than 6,000 "likes" now. Fans have managed to raise at least $25,000 for a defense fund, reported the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
