Zombie survival horror game “Dying Light” now has a confirmed release date. Polish video game developer Techland announced the title will reach the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC on Jan. 27 next year, a few days earlier than its expected February launch date.

Techland made the announcement via Twitter earlier today.

In August, Techland announced that players could participate in co-op mode with four people. Warner Bros., the game’s publisher, revealed the mode a few days before gamescom, which took place last month in Germany.

“Up to 4 players will be able to team up to face the dangers of the day and the terrors of the night -- two distinct sides of ‘Dying Light’s’ gameplay,” the studio said in a press release on Friday.

In “Dying Light,” which is told from a first-person perspective, you can explore the game’s open world as a human survivor, searching for items and battling the undead. Players can equip themselves with weapons like a spiked baseball bat, a pistol and an electric ax. You can also swim through water, climb walls and explore the rooftops of buildings.

The game was initially developed to be a sequel to “Dead Island,” but was turned into a new game with a number of new features.

“Dying Light” can be preordered from the game’s website for $59.99. Preorders come with a free DLC mode called “Be the Zombie,” where players can invade the games of other players as a Night Hunter, an ultimate Zombie with a special set of deadly skills. “Be the Zombie” is a competitive multiplayer mode that pits the Night Hunter against human survivors.
