Philadelphia Eagles star LeSean McCoy reiterated his belief that Denver Broncos running back Knowshown Moreno “sucks,” telling reporters that he meant what he said.

In a Wednesday afternoon press conference, McCoy met with reporters to discuss the Eagles’ upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old star heaped praise on Buccaneers running back Doug Martin, just days after sending out a tweet in which he said that Moreno “sucks,” CSN Philly reports.

“I just want to say I think Doug Martin is a heck of a running back,” a smirking McCoy told reporters, drawing a few laughs. “So he doesn’t suck?” a reporter asked.

“Nah,” McCoy said, according to CSN Philly. “He’s one of the better running backs for sure.”

McCoy’s praise of Martin prompted a reporter to ask the Eagles running back if he had changed his mind since saying that Moreno “sucks.” The 25-year-old’s response was anything but apologetic.

“I don’t want to talk about the past,” McCoy told reporters. “It is what it is. What I said is what I meant.”

When asked if he regretted the “Knowshow sucks” tweet, McCoy’s response was simple. “No,” he said.

The press conference exchange was a subtle reference to a Tweet that McCoy posted on Oct. 6 in which he responded to a comment by ESPN pundit Skip Bayless. Earlier that day, Bayless noted that Moreno’s effective play was having a major effect on the Broncos’ game against the Cowboys.

“Peyton [Manning] is doing what Peyton always does. But Knowshon is KILLING the Cowboys,” Bayless tweeted. For whatever reason, Moreno resented Bayless’ comment. He responded to the tweet, saying “Knowshon sucks.”

McCoy’s tweet drew a massive reaction from Twitter users. As of today, the post has been retweeted over 12,000 times and “favorited” over 5,000 times.
