“Ex’s and Oh’s” singer Elle King penned a sad Instagram update, confirming her split from ex Andrew “Fergie” Ferguson. While the rest of the world thought he was her fiancé, King explained they secretly got married three weeks after they met. In a tragic twist, they split before they could celebrate their union with friends and family. The April 15 wedding was canceled and King went to an Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle instead of walking down the aisle in New York to start her new life with Ferguson.

King, the daughter of actor Rob Schneider, took to Instagram to explain what happened. “We secretly got married 3 weeks after we met on 2/14/2016. It was and will forever be, one of the happiest days of my life,” she wrote. “This photo was taken today, 5/15/2017. A month after what should have been our big wedding ceremony. My heart is broken. My soul aches. I am lost. He is the greatest love of my life. He is my best friend. As we separate, and attempt to find our footing through life, all I can hope for us is that we both find happiness within ourselves.”

The 27-year-old wrote directly to Ferguson: “I love you. You'll always have my heart. You'll always be my first husband.”

The singer also addressed her fans. “Please be respectful of our emotions and our space during this time. Everybody thought I lost my mind and I did,” King penned. “So, be kind.”

The post was liked nearly 10,000 times by her 150,000 followers. She tagged herself as being in “Heartbreak Hotel.”

Even though King commented about the split several times, Ferguson did not respond — even when she made it seem like she ditched her wedding to see a band play.

“Skipped out on my wedding,” she wrote. “I married Rock & Roll instead...so I hopped on tour with EAGLES OF F--KING DEATH METAL.”

Ferguson proposed to King under the Golden Gate Bridge in February 2016. They likely tied the knot soon after that.

The duo met in a hotel room lobby in London, E! Online wrote last month. They got tattoos of each other’s names and Ferguson quit his job to move to the United States for King.

King was featured on TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” where she purchased her wedding down at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York. It was a $4,900 blush, long sleeve, off-the-shoulder, lace, beaded Stephen Yearick A-line dress, E! Online noted. The episode aired in March.

The week before her split, King hinted there was something wrong in her relationship on Instagram. “Been a really rough and insane start to this year,” she wrote last month. “Today someone tried to make me feel a certain way about myself. But we have to remember, no one can make you feel anything unless you let them. Don't give people power over you. As a human, other people may try to be threatening in more ways than just verbal or physical acts. Always be strong.”

She continued her positive message: “Never forget your rights and your worth. If no one has told you today, I love you and I think you're beautiful and are worthy of love and kindness. Be safe. Be smart. Don't let anyone make you feel fearful or small. Love yourself. Daniel Johnston said it, true love will find you in the end.”
