Jimmy Kimmel brought the laughs at the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night. On hand to present the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Kimmel chose to poke fun at actor Matthew McConaughey.

“You got so fat since the Oscars,” Kimmel called McConaughey out, referring to the actor’s shocking weight-loss for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club.”

But the jokes didn’t stick to the 44-year-old Texan’s appearance – they jumped to his hippie persona. “He doesn’t even own a television,” the late night talk show host joked. Kimmel continued that he knows for a fact that McConaughey traded his TV for a “conch shell full of weed.” The actor laughed in the crowd and tried to pin the accusation on his “True Detective” co-star, Woody Harrelson.

After a few more laughs about the actor having a face for movies, not television – and that Ricky Gervais has a face that’s not even for TV, but Netflix – Kimmel asked McConaughey to pack up his bongos, patchouli and Willie Nelson boot bong and “go to Burning Man or something.”

“Take Julia Roberts with you,” Kimmel added before announcing the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
