The Empire is hacked, and all hell breaks loose. Fox released the synopsis for “Empire” Season 3, episode 6 and it teases that the Lyon family once again starts turning on one another after someone leaks private information to the public.
According to the synopsis (via TV Guide): “The hacking of Empire leads to feuds breaking out between the artists and members of the Lyon family, and Andre (Trai Byers) tries to use the leak to his advantage.” Lucious (Terrence Howard) is also still trying to ruin Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) relationship with Angelo (Taye Diggs), while Jamal (Jussie Smollett) ends up in a “love triangle.”
In a sneak-peek video, seen above, Andre reveals that whoever is behind the Empire hack released every email that was sent to and from the company. Apparently, the hacker has access to everything including topless photos of Cookie. However, Cookie isn’t fazed that her X-rated pictures are now floating around the Internet. “What the hell y’all looking at,” she yells in the video. “They perky.”
The sneak peek also reveals that Cookie is really starting to like Angelo, but is worried that her checkered past could cost him the election. Angelo says he’s not worried about his opponent finding out Cookie’s secrets, but she is and tells him that she wouldn’t be able to handle it if he lost because of her and some of the mistakes she’s made.
While Cookie and Angelo are trying to figure out how to move forward with their relationship, Jamal is seen hooking up with D-Major (Tobias Truvillion). It’s also revealed that Jamal is mixing his medication for post-traumatic stress disorder with alcohol and the result could be deadly. At one point in the video, D-Major is seen trying to wake up an unconscious Jamal.
Fox also released a short promo for episode 6 teasing that Jamal will be on a mission to free his family from their dark past. Cookie is also heard saying that she’s sacrificed a lot for her family because that’s what you do for your loved ones.
“Empire” Season 3 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
