Kaitlin Doubleday is having a very good week. After the “Empire” Season 2 news was announced at the Fox upfronts on Monday, the actress left for Paris with her DJ boyfriend, Devin Lucien. But Doubleday won’t be coming back empty-handed since Lucien decided to pop the question during their romantic getaway.

Before the couple took off for Paris, a source told Us Weekly Lucien had prepared everything for the big moment. He popped the question Tuesday and the couple quickly took to social media to share the news. On Instagram, Doubleday showed off her new ring and fiancé. Lucien followed suit with an all-capitalized message confirming the engagement and his excitement.

Doubleday was in attendance for the Fox upfronts Monday with several of her “Empire” co-stars, including Jussie Smollett, Taraji P. Henson and Grace Gealy. At the event, the network announced the extended order of 18 episodes for Season 2 would be played in two halves. Doubleday and her co-stars will be playing host to more musical guest stars this season, including Ne-Yo, Timbaland, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys.

“Empire” fans will recognize Doubleday as Rhonda, wife of Andre Lyon (Trai Byers). But she’s no ordinary “stand by your man” type; the ambitious Rhonda is daring enough to stand up to Lucious (Terrence Howard) and is conniving even by Cookie’s (Henson) standards. Rhonda Lyon hopes to see her husband Andre at the head of Empire Records and will stop at nothing (not even murder, as we learned in the Season 1 finale) to see her plans through.

Doubleday isn’t the only “Empire” cast member to enjoy good news on the romantic front. The show has also seems to have brought together Byers and Gealy, who plays Lucious’ former flame Anika Calhoun. The pair was spotted getting very close and personal at a friend’s wedding in March.

“Empire” has helped launch Doubleday into more movie work as well. Variety reports the actress has been picked to co-star in "po," a drama about a newly single father learning to care for his autistic son. The film is set for release some time next year.

With Season 2 of “Empire” on the horizon for a scheduled fall premiere, Doubleday is set to enjoy a very good 2015 indeed.
