Ethiopia's annual inflation rate accelerated to 17.7 percent in January from 14.5 percent a month earlier, driven by food prices, the statistics office said on Monday.

The year-on-year food inflation has increased by 13.6 percent in January 2011 as compared to the one observed in January 2010, the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) said.
