Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of President John F. Kennedy was hospitalized in critical condition at a Massachusetts hospital on Friday, her family said, according to CNN.
The cause of her hospitalization has not been made public.
Shriver, 88 was at the hospital with her husband, children, grandchildren and California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who is married to her daughter Maria, the Associated Press reported.
Shriver is mostly known because she established the first Special Olympics in 1968 in Chicago. Her sister, Rosemary who suffered from a mental disability inspired her.
