BRUSSELS, May 2 (Reuters) - European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn said on Sunday he was confident euro zone finance ministers would endorse emergency loans for Greece.

He said the amount of loans Greece would receive would be agreed at a meeting of the finance ministers in Brussels after Athens announced a new austerity programme.

I am confident the euro area member states will today endorse this programme and I am recommending to the Eurogroup today to activate the mechanism, Rehn told reporters as he arrived for the meeting.
