Evan Rachel Wood once thought that she and Marilyn Manson were beautiful people together. However, hindsight tells her a different story.

In a recent interview with Net-A-Porter.com's The Edit, Woods said she thought it was love in 2006 when the two got together. At the time she was 19, while Manson was 36.

"I wasn’t doing it to prove a point or be rebellious. I wanted to break a mold for sure -- I knew I was edgier, more alternative, and weird. And [Marilyn] was just what I needed, because I felt really free with him. And that freedom was attractive."

Wood and Manson split in November 2008, but they got back together in January 2010 and got engaged. The engagement didn’t last long though, and the two called it quits for good in August 2010.

In an interview with The Daily Beast in 2013, Wood said people were cruel to her when she dated Manson, including strangers. “If people were wondering why I was acting so-called crazy or like a teenager, it’s because I was,” she dished. “People go through phases. People make mistakes. People go through life and don’t get it right every time.”

The “Thirteen” star said she found “the love of her life” in actor Jamie Bell, who she dated after Manson. Wood and Bell married in October 2012 and have one child together, however, they divorced in May 2014. In an Us exclusive, a rep for the couple said, “They both love and respect one another and will of course remain committed to co-parenting their son. This is a mutual decision and the two remain close friends."

As for Manson, he went on to date photographer Lindsay Usich in March 2012, but the two have since broken up. In February, he told Australia’s Beat he was newly single. Manson spent the summer co-headlining shows around the United States with the Smashing Pumpkins.
