Gotham
Ben McKenzie, who plays Jim Gordon, will direct an upcoming episode of “Gotham” Season 3. Fox

Fall TV is officially in premiere mode! This is a big week of shows starting and returning, and Monday night is packed with new seasons and series. Choose your shows wisely.

“The Big Bang Theory” returns for Season 10 on CBS, and Penny’s (Kaley Cuoco) family will finally be introduced. Katey Sagal, who played Cuoco’s mom on “8 Simple Rules,” will play the family matriarch, and Jack McBrayer will play her drug dealer brother.

After “Big Bang” returns, a couple new comedies will be launched. “Kevin Can Wait” will have its series premiere. The CBS show follows a newly retired police officer (Kevin James) as he discovers that his wife and three children are more difficult than criminals. Kristen Bell will be discovering something even better than retirement on NBC. “The Good Place” follows Eleanor (Bell) as she learns that she is in heaven — by mistake. She tries to give up her questionable morals so she doesn’t get sent to the bad place, but that’s harder than it looks.

If you prefer hell over heaven, just switch over to Fox. The premiere of “Lucifer” Season 2 will show the title character (Tom Ellis) teaming up with his brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) searching for his mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer).

Meanwhile, “Gotham” Season 3 will show Gordon (Ben McKenzie) searching for answers about the mysterious Indian Hill. The facility will be responsible for Poison Ivy’s (Maggie Geha) sudden growth spurt, and it will spark the interest of a local reporter, Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung). Elsewhere, Bruce’s (David Mazouz) doppelganger will still be roaming the streets in the premiere.

Of course, reality fans have something to watch as well. “The Voice” Season 11 starts tonight, and the show will welcome new hosts Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. The women will be competing with veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine to find the best singers.
