Ever since she flaunted a slimmer body this September, Fantasia Barrino has not stopped working on achieving her fitness goals. The “American Idol” Season 3 winner appears to be quite serious in her weight loss journey per her recent social media posts.

On Wednesday, the “Lose to Win” singer took to Instagram to give fans an idea how her intense workout goes. In her post, Barrino is seen lifting some weights as her personal trainer, Sonya D, motivates her to keep going. Though Barrino already looks tired from the routine, she keeps on going to keep up with her trainer’s pace. She also expressed her determination to stay fit when she captioned the post: “Hard work but it pays off.”

In another post, Barrino revealed what she drinks after an intense workout with the celebrity fitness trainer. The snap shows a framed handbill of Sonya D’s Total You program and a mason jar that contains a mixture of liquid and grapes and berries.

Given Barrino’s dedication to engaging in a healthy lifestyle, it’s not surprising that she’s managed to drop a lot of weight and show off a more toned body in the recent months. The “I Believe” hitmaker surprised everyone two months ago when she shared a before and after photo of her body on social media. Extra took notice of her post and even called her weight loss “impressive.”

Barrino shared that aside from doing regular workouts with Sonya D, she also enrolled in Urban Skin Solutions’ medical weight loss program to get rid of the unnecessary weight. Ever since she got help from the two, the singer has been recommending them to her fans on social media.

Barrino’s happy and content disposition at present is the complete opposite of what she was feeling a couple of years ago. Around the same time when her third studio album “Back to Me” was released in 2010, she opened up to VH1’s “Behind the Music” interview that she committed suicide by overdosing on aspiring and a sleep aid.

“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the “Free Yourself” songstress was quoted as saying by People. “At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].” The singer’s botched attempt at taking her own life happened after she struggled to deal with family problems and the threat to face a lawsuit by the wife of the man she had an affair with.
