The seventh installment of the “Fast & Furious” film franchise is only three weeks into production but the series lead, actor Vin Diesel, is already dropping hints about what “Fast 7” has in store for its long-standing fanbase.

Not one to keep his fans in the dark, Diesel, who stars as the rough and tough street racer Dominic Toretto in the action flicks, began sharing set photos with “Fast and Furious” fans earlier this month. The 46-year-old actor first teased his 47.8 million Facebook followers with a solo shot on Sep. 13th with the tagline, “Seven… has begun,” prompting an online frenzy from fans alike.

Following the posting of his first “Fast Seven” related post, which garnered over 218,000 “likes” and over 10,000 shares on the social media site, Diesel has since offered up more spoilers for his in-the-know fans. “Fast Seven…” Diesel wrote on Facebook Saturday alongside an exclusive shot of the film’s returning stars: Paul Walker, as the former cop turned con-artist, Brian O’Conner, and Tyrese Gibson, as Roman Pearce, the good-looking, fast-talking criminal.

While Diesel has since released six more photos: one of him feigning pain while getting “punched,” another of him talking a crew member off camera and one even sharing a glimpse at a “somber” funeral scene, his biggest announcement came in the form of casting news Tuesday. Following rumors that “Silkwood" star Kurt Russell would join the blockbuster franchise, Diesel confirmed the reports with a photo of Russell on set. “Kurt Russell, such an honor to work with,” he said, the image accompanied by a picture of the award-winning actor filming a scene in what appears to be an auto repair shop.

According to IMDB’s “Fast & Furious 7” page, the seventh film will follow the Toretto’s crew as they fight against this a villain named Ian Shaw, played by veteran action star Jason Statham. “The Expendables'" stars' character first made an appearance in the series in a surprise clip at the end of the sixth film “Fast & Furious 6" in May. While many actors from the original films; Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriquez and Jordana Brewster will all be reprising their roles, Russell's role in the upcoming film is currently unknown.

“Fast & Furious 7” is scheduled to be released in theaters July 11, 2014.
