Love is grand, but fame may not be all that it’s cracked up to according to FKA Twigs. The R&B singer recently discussed some of the highs and lows of dating the once eligible bachelor and former “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, FKA Twigs (Tahliah Barnett) confessed that the crushing attention from Robert Pattinson fans was frustrating enough to make “you want to smash your face into the mirror.” She cited their relentless abuse, sometimes racially charged against the biracial singer, did nothing positive for her career.  “There’s no amount of songs I can sing or dances I can dance that will prove to them I’m not a monkey.”

That’s not to mention the constant stalking prescience of paparazzi, a new addition to the new pop star who only released her first album, “LP1,” last year. Despite the difficulties, FKA Twigs did say that she was happy with the way her life has recently gone. In an interview with the Guardian in December, the singer weighed the pros and cons of her relationship. “Is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question... It's 100 percent worth it.”

FKA Twigs has previously spoken out against the racist harassment she has received last September. "Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it's unacceptable online," she told her followers on Twitter. Us Weekly reported that after the couple began dating in August, FKA twigs began to receive a deluge of racist harassment from Robert Pattinson and his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart fans.

Since rumors of the couple's engagement broke in April, sources say the two will tie the knot in September in a quirky, low-key wedding. The pair has been dating for less than a year and made the 2015 Met Gala their first official public appearance together. FKA twigs also showed off her engagement ring at the star-studded event.
