Kevin Smith said that fans can expect great performances in Season 3, Episode 7 of “The Flash.”

In his latest Instagram post, Smith — who is currently directing Episode 7, titled “Killer Frost” — said that the seventh hour of the upcoming installment will feature “some really killer performances” from the cast that viewers should not miss.

“Sometimes in order to feel small, a guy needs a really big slate,” Smith wrote on the social networking site, alongside a photo of him holding a huge clapperboard. “Day 7 on my @cwtheflash episode and we’re spending it in the Pipeline — a set I didn’t get to play with on my last episode. I’ve only got Friday left, then Monday, then I’m done with my second trip up to #TheFlash. And we’re building something special, kids: there are some really killer performances in Season 3, Episode 7.”

Little is known about the episode, but its title suggests that fans might be seeing the return of Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker) Earth-2 doppelganger Killer Frost.

Last week, Smith revealed in a tweet that Season 3 main villain Dr. Alchemy is appearing in Episode 7. “Love ‘directing’ @CW_TheFlash so much! We shot a scene with Alchemy last night. I had to hide my nerd-boner with my script the whole time...,” he wrote on the social networking site on Sept. 15.

Before starting filming, Smith also took to Instagram to give a little teaser about Episode 7. In a post he shared a week ago, Smith wrote that Episode 7 “contains a lot of ‘First’ moments and [a] super heroic sparring spectacle.”

While the 46-year-old filmmaker didn’t divulge any more about what those “first” moments were and which characters would be butting heads in the “sparring spectacle” he mentioned, he wrote that the episode has “got lots more action sequences and fights” compared to the first “The Flash” episode he directed last season. Smith’s first “The Flash” directorial gig was Season 2, Episode 21, titled “The Runaway Dinosaur.”

“The Flash” Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
