It looks like fans will see more one-on-one scenes between Iris and Caitlin in Season 4 of “The Flash.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Candice Patton revealed that the CW series will finally develop the friendship between the two female characters next season.

“We’re definitely going to see Iris’ (Patton) relationship with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) especially developed this season, which we haven’t seen before, which will be really nice for fans,” Patton told the news outlet. “Fans have been wanting to see more female dynamic on the show, and there will definitely be that [in Season 4]. They’re working closely together. Caitlin has been through so much herself in relationships, and I think if anyone can offer advice, it would be her, so she’s there quite often to give Iris advice on her relationship with Barry (Grant Gustin) and how to move forward.”

Iris and Caitlin’s friendship will likely be featured in Season 4, episode 5, titled “Girls Night Out.” Executive producer Todd Helbing told TVLine that the episode will see the female characters take a break from work and unwind.

“It’s really fun,” Helbing teased of the episode. “The girls [plus ‘Arrow’s’ Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards)] go and have a night out in Central City alone, without the guys. And they get into some trouble.”

Patton has been campaigning for more defining moments between female characters on the show ever since some fans began calling “The Flash” a “boys club.” “The female friendships [on the series] are kind of not as strong,” Patton admitted (via Comic Book Resources) during last month’s San Diego Comic-Con. “I keep advocating for Linda Park (Malese Jow) to come back because I feel like [Iris and Linda], of all the characters, could have a really great female friendship. I don’t know if that’s something that’s going to happen. But we’ve got Caitlin, we’ve got Gypsy (Jessica Camacho), Jessie Quick (Violett Beane) … We’ll see. Maybe Season 4. Maybe.”
