India's food price index rose 9.47 percent and the fuel price index climbed 13.01 percent in the year to Sept. 3, government data on Thursday showed.

In the previous week, annual food and fuel inflation stood at 9.55 percent and 12.55 percent, respectively.

The primary articles index was up 13.04 percent, compared with an annual rise of 13.34 percent a week earlier.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) remains bent on fighting domestic inflation , which climbed to its highest in more than a year to 9.78 percent in August, reinforcing the case for another rate hike on Friday despite weakening growth and a worsening global outlook.

The RBI, which has lifted rates 11 times in 18 months, will release its mid-quarter review on Friday.
