Naya Rivera’s upcoming memoir “Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up” will reveal a lot about the former “Glee” star. The 29-year-old mom of one dished on her personal life, opening up about her failed engagement to rapper Big Sean and surprise wedding to Ryan Dorsey.

Speaking to People magazine Friday, Rivera said she thinks her marriage to Dorsey was blown out of proportion. “The media eschewed it into this whole thing,” she said, denying she was simply “switching grooms.”

In April 2014, Rivera and Big Sean announced they were calling off their engagement. The news came just three months before they were supposed to wed. The “Devious Maids” actress then married Dorsey on July 19 of that same year after a few months of dating. At the time TMZ reported that Rivera and Dorsey got married on the same date she was supposed to tie the knot with Big Sean.

According to People, Rivera explained in her book that her nuptials to Dorsey didn’t just come out of the blue and that two dated in 2010 but split so she could focus on her career. “To this day, I’ll be doing interviews and people will be like, ‘Oh my God ! Y’all were friends?’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’” she told the magazine. Dorsey and Rivera didn’t reconnect until after her failed engagement. “It was good to tell our story and put the truth out there,” she explained about why she wanted to release the book. “We’ve been married now two years and have a gorgeous son and it feels good to let everyone know what really happened.”

Also in the memoir, Rivera revealed that she had an abortion and suffered from anorexia as a teenager. According to an excerpt published by People on Wednesday, she wrote that she found out she was pregnant with Dorsey’s baby a few weeks after their 2010 breakup. Instead of telling him, she decided to terminate the pregnancy. “It’s not something a lot of people talk about, but I think they should,” she said.

“Sorry Not sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up” will be released on Sept. 13.
