France offers $5.3B to fisherman
France announced Wednesday it will offer 4 million Euros($5.3 million) in aid to fisherman in the north of France.
The proposal was made by Fisheries Minister Michel Barnier after four hours of talks with representatives of fisherman in the North region of France.
He added there are no changes to EU quotas amid an ongoing blockade of Channel ports. It was the responsibility of the fishermen themselves.
