It's July 11, and that can only mean one thing: It's 7-Eleven’s Free Slurpee Day. Every year when the numeric date (7/11) matches the name of the convenience store chain, it rewards customers with a free cup of its signature frosty treat.

Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Slurpee fans can get a free small Slurpee drink, which has increased from the brand-centric 7.11 ounces to a full 12 ounces of frozen goodness. Fans can find free frozen drinks at participating 7-Eleven stores in the United States and Canada, while supplies last.

As part of the growing annual celebration, which launched in 2002, 7-Eleven is encouraging Slurpee fans to learn the “Slurpee Dance” as demonstrated by Nathan Barnatt, download the theme song, and post their renditions of the dance on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Vine with the tag @slurpee #slurpeedance.

According to 7-Eleven, the store has celebrated its birthday for decades, but the tradition of Free Slurpee day didn’t begin until its 75th birthday in 2002, which has grown into a huge celebration in the United States and Canada. July 11, 2013 marks 7-Eleven's 86th birthday.

The Dallas-based company is also offering printable party favors that fans can print out to wear for the celebration. 7-Eleven convenience stores are also offering Slurpee branded merchandise for purchase, including sandals, hats, t-shirts, tanktops, and sunglasses.

As if that wasn’t enough, 7-Eleven is topping off the celebration by introducing new summer flavors including Slurpee Strawberry Lemonshade, and Slurpee Light Sugar-Free Mango Lemonade.

7-Eleven has grown to 50,700 stores in 16 countries, generating $84.8 billion in sales. 7-Eleven is owned by Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:3382)
