French footwear designer Christian Louboutin, known for his designer shoes, has unveiled his new lipstick collection. The official launch is scheduled for Sept. 1. Louboutin will include his famous classic red shade in the collection.

The fall collection of lipsticks, priced at $90 per tube, will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue. It will feature 38 hues. The collection ranges from bold pinks to rich berries and subtle nudes.

Rouge Louboutin will be sold in ornate packaging, with the lid resembling a crown in gold and silver while the case is black. The other lipsticks come in gold cases, Harpers Bazaar reported.

The ultra-luxe packaging of each lipstick draws inspiration from Babylonian antiquities and Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. The sticks come in the shape of an inverted spike, like stiletto heels. They even come with a ribbon, that can be threaded through a small ring on the cap, turning it into a necklace.

“With its slow circular application, lip make up becomes a rich and sensual gesture. Whether accentuating or mattifying the lips, this little object has the ability to transform the entire face,” the designer said in a release.

He added when a woman carries a handbag, everyone looks at her shoulders, and when she slips on a pair of heels, they observe her walk. Heif she applies lacquer to her nails, everyone admires her hands.

Louboutin Lipstick comes in three types: Silky Satin, Velvet Matte, and Sheer Voile. The collection includes 20 colors in the first shade, while the second and third shades, each boast of nine colors. Each color is inspired by the brand’s iconic handbag and shoes.

The entire lipstick collection hits Christianlouboutin.com in a few weeks. The new range comes close on the heels of his popular nail polish line. Meanwhile, Louboutin is on an expansion spree, adding a new bag to his collection, which recently was showcased in New York. He also opened a new store in collaboration with Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi in Houston.
