There may not ever be a tennis player who dominates one Grand Slam like Rafael Nadal has owned the French Open. But when Nadal defends his 11th title at Roland Garros in May, he may get a more serious challenge from the world's top player.

Novak Djokovic, who breezed past Nadal at the Australian Open, has been given 2/1 odds to win the French Open, according to Sky Bet. To put those odds into perspective, the player with the second-best odds in 2018 was Alexander Zverev at 10/1 odds.

But Nadal, ranked No. 2, remains the overwhelming favorite at 5/6. It wouldn't be surprising if his odds improve if Roger Federer pulls out of the tournament. As for right now, Federer, the world No. 6, is slated to play, though he currently has just 25/1 odds.

Other contenders include Dominic Thiem (12/1), Zverev (14/1) and Stan Wawrinka (28/1).

A showdown between Nadal and Djokovic would be tantalizing.

Djokovic has only won the tournament once (2016) after he was denied in 2015 by Wawrinka in a classic match. Both runs came with Nadal not at full strength, but this year should be different.

Nadal and Djokovic are both healthy and there's a decent chance of the two legends facing off in Paris. While Nadal would certainly be favored on the clay court, he could get a serious test from Djokovic, who has returned to form with stellar play in recent months.

It would be a great victory for either player, particularly with Djokovic dominating the ATP rankings.
