Singer and musician Gavin DeGraw has been hospitalized after being beaten and struck by a cab in New York City.

DeGraw is currently on tour with Maroon 5 and Train. He was scheduled to perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., but has been replaced by Nikki Jean, TMZ reports.

DeGraw was attacked early Monday morning in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Dazed from the assault, he was soon after struck by a cab.

He was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital. He has suffered "a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises," according to his Web site.

The police are investigating the attack.

DeGraw had planned a live chat session with fans on Wednesday. There is no word as to whether the session has been called off.
