Marcus Fenix and his team mates get ready for "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition." www.xbox.com

“Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” will soon be available for the Xbox One next week, and to celebrate the occasion, a launch trailer for the game was released and it features the cover of “Mad World” by Gary Jules. Fans of the series will recognize the trailer as it is essentially a tribute to the game’s launch trailer that came out in 2006 using the same song.

While the trailer uses the same song, there are some major differences between the two videos, according to Eurogamer. The original trailer sticks with one scenario, which is Marcus Fenix trying to survive against various enemies. The trailer for the “Ultimate Edition” uses a variety of gameplay footage while also attempting to disturb players with the song and the video.

According to GameSpot, the original trailer was considered to be one of the more iconic ones in video game history, so it is easy to see why Microsoft decided to pay tribute to it. If anything, it should get veteran “Gears of War” fans excited for the “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition,” especially with how graphically superior it is now, compared to the original version that came out on the Xbox 360.

The “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” is a remake of the first game, with graphics that were supposedly built from the ground up. This remastered version of the game also supports 1080p graphics and runs on 60fps, even in the game’s hectic multiplayer mode.

Fans, who purchase the game are also in for a special treat, as it will come with all four “Gears of War” titles from the Xbox 360. These versions of the game will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One, so players will be able to continue the game’s story after beating the “Ultimate Edition.”

“Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” will be available on Aug. 25 for $40. Buying the game also grants players access to the “Gears of War 4” beta, along with the aforementioned games that are backwards compatible with Microsoft’s current-gen console. A PC version of the title has been announced, but it will not come out until sometime after the Xbox One version has been released.
