Recently-married George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin do want to have kids, the American actor reportedly told German newspaper Bild on Monday. The news follows Clooney's comments, in an interview to CBS last month, that being a parent was not on his priority list.

When Bild asked Clooney if he and Alamuddin were keen to have children, he said: "Yes, but we're taking our time," Reuters reported.

However, in the CBS interview last month, when asked if Clooney was thinking about having kids, Clooney had said: "I haven't really," adding: "I've thought about it I suppose, but I haven't really – it hasn't been high on my list, uh, I've been asked a lot lately because I've gotten married and I'm doing a movie with kids in it. You should see how creative the way they ask me."

Last May, an insider close to Clooney had reportedly said that the couple wanted children, and that was one of the reasons they were getting married. The couple got married last September in Venice.

"[George and Amal] definitely want kids ASAP,” the source had said, adding: “Her father is getting older and he really wants to see her kids [before he dies]. Out of all his kids, he’s especially proud of Amal. It would mean the world to him to see her become a mom.”
