The George Clooney train rolled into New York City on Wednesday night for the east coast premiere of his new film, The Ides of March.

The red carpet affair, held at the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan, was also attended by Clooney's co-stars Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti.

Clooney, who also directed the film, stars as Governor Mike Morris, a Democrat who embarks on a presidential campaign plagued by dirty politics and his young campaign manager, played by Ryan Gosling.

Would Clooney ever consider a run for office?

It would never be something I'm interested in. I'm not good at the kind of compromises that you have to make to get elected, the 50-year-old actor told CBS on Wednesday.
