German business confidence fell this month to its lowest level in more than two years, dropping farther than economists were expecting, the nation's Ifo institute said Friday.
The business climate index reading declined to 105.3 in June, down from May's 106.9. It was the lowest since March 2010 when the index hit 102. Experts polled by Dow Jones Newswires and Bloomberg News expected a June reading of 105.6.
Separately, Italian consumer confidence hit a record low in June, Rome-based Istat said Friday.
