Thursday, a report by the German Federal Statistical Office said the number of employees working in manufacturing units with 50 or more employees, fell 0.3% year-on-year in February to 5.2 million.

At the same time, the number of hours worked dropped 11.1% from last year to 618 million. Moreover, total gross wages and salaries fell 2.6% to EUR16.2 billion.
