With one day to go until Super Bowl XLVI, football fans across America are preparing for the big game. Whether you're too impatient to wait until the game is over to find out who wins, you're planning to bet some money on the game, or you just want to ruin it for your friends, there are plenty of reasons that you might want, or even need, to know whether New York or New England will come out on top.

Of course, there's no real way to win, but that doesn't stop football fans from pouring over the records and statistics of each individual player on each team, and it also doesn't stop people from creating simulations that use complex algorithms to predict the final score. Once again, the Madden NFL video game has been used to simulate the Super Bowl, and according to the results, the Giants will a win real knuckle-biter of a game, scoring a field goal in the last few seconds for a final score of 27-24.

Over at 1up.com (tag-line: Where Gamers Call Home) they've taken a different approach. Their staff used the popular new video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to simulate a battle between the Giants (a team of gigantic club swinging monsters) against the Patriots (played by the Stormcloaks, a fictional group of ultra-nationalist warriors within the Skyrim world). If 1up and Skyrim are correct, then the NY Giants will literally clobber the NE Patriots into little pieces. It's no surprise that Skyrim's giants demolished their much smaller opponents, but Eli Manning and the Patriots definitely have a more difficult challenge ahead of them.
