Looking pretty spiffy there, Luke!

Recently, “Gilmore Girls” star Scott Patterson posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the Netflix reboot — and a rather interesting picture at that! Instead of Luke sporting his usual getup (a flannel shirt and a backwards baseball cap), the diner owner was wearing much more formal attire as he struck a pose next to co-stars Sean Gunn and Milo Ventimiglia. (Gunn portrays Kirk in the series, and Ventimiglia plays Jess, Luke’s nephew.)

But what would ever get Luke Danes to put on a suit? Well, we’re thinking it might have something to do with the wedding that Marie Claire reported would be taking place in the upcoming series. A source told the magazine that fans can definitely expect a ring exchange. But which characters will be saying “I do”?

At the 2015 ATX Television Festival in Austin, which was before the Netflix reboot announcement, Patterson told International Business Times who he thought would be walking down the aisle in the much-anticipated “Gilmore Girls” movie.

“[Fans] want a resolution, and it’s not a mystery what the film should be: It’s a wedding; it’s not complicated,” he said, hinting at the possibility of Luke and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) getting married. And since Netflix confirmed the reboot in January, Patterson’s feeling about his character getting hitched hasn’t changed.

“I hope so. I hope for the fans [Luke and Lorelai get married]. It’s what they want. Whatever I think is best for the show and best for the fans, I hope that occurs,” he told IBT. “Listen, Amy [Palladino, the showrunner] wants to do this right. She’s been back and forth for years trying to get this thing off the ground and it's finally happening and I think she’ll do the fans right. Of course I want that to happen. That’s the love letter we want to give to the fans, because that’s one of the prominent themes throughout the show — this romance. So we’ll see. Fingers crossed.”
