‘Girls’
Will there be a “Boys” spinoff starring Andrew Rannells after the cancellation of “Girls” Season 6 on HBO? HBO

“Girls” Season 6 is confirmed to be the last installment for the Lena Dunham-starrer.

But following last Sunday night’s episode, TV Line is urging HBO to consider giving cast member Andrew Rannells his own spinoff. In episode 7, titled “The Bounce,” the character received more than enough screentime to showcase his talents. In the installment, Rannells’ character Elijah has decided to try his luck once again in acting. Previously, he let go of his ultimate dream when he realized that it’s very difficult to land a role.

This time around, Elijah was able to successfully complete the different stages of his audition. Not only was his acting impressive, but he also proved to be a very good dancer. But when the casting crew handed him a basketball to use in his routine, Elijah’s audition immediately went downhill. But since he stood out among all of the other men who auditioned for the role, he was cast for the part.

According to TV Line, based on his performance in last Sunday’s episode, HBO should definitely consider giving Rannells a “Girls” spinoff. And what better title to give his show than “Boys.” The publication’s writer, Charlie Mason, has also requested executive producer and cast member Dunham to consider writing an Elijah-centered episode.

But until this happens, fans of “Girls” would have to say goodbye to Hannah (Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirks) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) in April. The series only has a total of 10 confirmed episodes, and episode 8 will be released on April 1 at 10 p.m. EST.

“What Will We Do This Time About Adam?” will see Hannah and Adam (Adam Driver) potentially getting another chance at a romantic relationship.
